Lesson timing & overtime

BrightBridge aims to make lesson timing predictable for students, parents and tutors. The following rules are our proposed future billing policy, currently being tested.

1. Your scheduled lesson price covers the duration booked.
2. If teaching continues beyond the scheduled end, the next five minutes are complimentary.
3. Thereafter, up to 30 additional minutes may be billed by the minute at the agreed rate, provided the applicable payment agreement and authorization have been established.
4. There is no further overtime charge beyond that limit without a separate agreement.
5. Overtime must reflect teaching time when both student and tutor are present. Disputes, no-shows and interruptions require review.
6. Students and tutors should receive advance reminders as the scheduled lesson ends and before chargeable overtime begins.

Current testing status: PayPal Sandbox only. No real overtime charge, invoice collection, automatic card payment or tutor payout is enabled. A booking acknowledgment does not authorize future payments.

Subscription lesson credits

A 4-session monthly subscription adds 4 lesson credits at each renewal; an 8-session subscription adds 8. One credit covers one lesson of the selected duration. Unused credits carry over for the same tutor and lesson length.

Student no-shows: 15-minute tutor waiting rule

If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson, the tutor must join the classroom and remain available for at least 15 minutes from the scheduled lesson start (or for a full 15 minutes if the tutor joins late). If the student still has not joined, the tutor may leave without giving a reason or completing a no-show questionnaire.

The student's prepaid lesson credit carries over for rebooking rather than being forfeited. Eligible unused package credits are returned automatically after attendance checks, beginning 24 hours after the lesson ends. Conflicting attendance records may require BrightBridge review. There is no automatic tutor no-show payment or additional student charge under this rule.
